Horace Pickett: I Don’t Know the Man

After a little poking around the net I discovered that The Torn ACLs have released two new albums since I picked up their first EP, Cedar By the Sea, in 2009. Anyone who has listened to my playlists for more than a few days will know that I regularly insert Reputation at top volume, because I love it.

While waiting for the ACL albums to arrive in the mail I browsed around the other Seattle artists recommended on their website.

Look what I found:  Horace Pickett.

Horace Pickett may be the best unknown band in the world. Insert Frank Zappa, Kermit the Frog, Primus, & TMBG into a Blendtec Classic and hot damn, I love it. I am quickly burning through everything I can find of theirs and I need more.  Their music is strange and gratifying, a wondrously complex hybrid.

Everyone should proceed to their website and pay them as much money as humanly possible (they request donations) for the albums.
