Mumford & Sons: Babel

This post should prove to be a genuine crowd pleaser:

Yes, it is officially confirmed that, English folk-rockers, Mumford & Sons has completed their follow-up album to the double grammy-nominated Sigh No More.

In case you cannot read nautical flag, here is a quick primer:

I’ll just solve that little puzzle for you right here, the record will be known as: Babel (yes, I know that it’s also in the blog post title); and Babel will be released September 24th, 2012 throughout the universe. Expect to hear tracks off this album on every radio station, in your deepest of dreams, and on vibrating dorm-room windows.

I have even heard distant rumors that there will be a extra-special bonus track featuring the illustrious Paul Frederic Simon. See if you can guess which track it is.

Babel is available now for pre-order on the Mumford website,

and now you know.

  1. Can’t help it. Love these guys. All their songs sound the same, but that sound is just so instinctually arousing. Who doesn’t love a soft beginning that ever climbs into a manically repeating banjo riff, loud guitar strumming, a pounding drum beat, and exciting, romantic, anecdotal lyrics almost yelled with passion? Hell, maybe a few horns are in there too, helping you along. Oh, and don’t forget the short refrains where the instrumental music stops, suddenly, after you’ve already been elevated to a frenzy, and you hold your breath as he says a few quiet repeated lyrics, only to explode into a crescendo of the excitement you just recovered from? No one. That’s who.
