Wilco: The Whole Love

I don’t have much time, but I want to post something about this album. Towards the end of last year (Sept. 2011), Wilco released The Whole Love and it is stunningly pure.

Normally I would debate the merit of industry based awards – however this album, and Wilco in general, manage to tame my raging anti-establishment personality flaws and prove that sometimes the correct bands are honored.  (Wilco has been nominated for 6 Grammy Awards over the years, including The Whole Love in 2012, and won twice)

While they have been compared to Randy Newman, [no Kirocknroll] that’s not why I put them up here. Wilco manage to push the listener to hear more from their albums. The boundaries of pop and folk and rock blend into an endless horizon – an unseen line that you’re drawn ever towards… just keep walking, until you feel yourself tumbling over the edge of the universe and into the bliss of completely unconfined auditory space.

I have to run. But, while I’m gone, listen to Wilco’s new album.
